I came upon a charming girl and Sarah is her name
Her parents wants a husband with riches wealth and fame
I have the wealth but riches and fame
Have never come my way
‘Till the night I went to visit my love and through the keyhole say
Sarah, Sarah won’t you come out tonight
Sarah, Sarah the moon is shining bright
Put your hat and jacket on
Tell your mother you won’t be long
And I’ll be waiting for you ’round the corner!
I don’t remember if I’ve mentioned Sippin’ Whiskey before in this blog. If I haven’t- it’s a band that myself, Colin and our friend Mike McDonald are a part of! We’ve got a pretty eclectic sound, lots of celtic/traditional music as well as some punk, folk, everything type of stuff going on. It’s a lot of fun! We get to work together in the summers and make some great music, have a good time!
The other night we had a couple of great east coasters play at the store. Norma Macdonald and Steven Bowers played a great couple of sets and we had a little east coast reunion!
When Steven heard Colin had a boron he got excited and asked to jam so we broke out the old trusty Sarah! Sarah is a great old Newfoundland ditty that I’ve sang for years and we have a lot of fun performing at our shows.
It was a lot of fun, and we spent an hour or so making the video- and here it is for all of you! I hope you all enjoy it!
